Snippet Sunday - 99 Cent Easter Romance: A Polish Heart #snippetsunday

Hi all, I'm participating in the Weekend Warriors Snippet Sunday. This month, I'll be taking snippets from my sweet contemporary/inspirational Romance: A Polish Heart. You can find the Weekend Warriors Snippet Sunday list at:

This snippet:  Darrin wants to spend time with Sofia.

*****
"Have dinner with me tonight."
It was bold, yes, but this might be his only chance to get to know her.
She raised an eyebrow.
Perhaps that didn't sound right. It sounded too demanding – something his father would say – and he was not his father.
"I'm sorry, will you have dinner with me tonight?" His voice was soft and gentle.

Sofia paused, "I'm quite tempted, but what about your work?"

A Polish Heart takes place leading up to Easter in Warsaw, Poland.  Can Sofia's faith give Darrin his heart back?

  1. I always appreciate a self-aware man and at least he's trying! :)

  2. If he asks she should just go and let him worry about his work.

  3. I love that he thought to rephrase the question.

And, hey, he has to eat! Might as well have company for it.

  4. I did like that he rephrased his request once he realized how it sounded. Interesting snippet!

  5. Who could refuse a guy who made the effort to make his request more appealing? Surely she won't.

  6. I love that he restated his request...I'm hoping she won't refuse : )

  7. Of course she's tempted! And for a man who rephrases a question so it doesn't sound harsh? If she doesn't take him up on the offer, I will.
