2.99 Steampunk Romance: A Gentleman and a Rogue #kindledeal

GOLD Winner - 2013 Reader's Favorite Contest in Romance: Historical

BLURB: Lady Keira Russell is destined to bring compressed natural gas to Britain. Her inner courage and mental toughness rarely falter – except when Prince Edmund Windsor is involved.
Edmund of Wales is from the future. His last jaunt through history muffed up the time line. Now, he's here to set it straight and win Keira's heart.
For Keira, if it isn't one obstacle, it's another. Queen Victoria has sponsored a competition to find a cleaner fuel source than coal. Keira's father is trying to build a windmill and the Ridgecrofts are working with gasoline. Then there's Edmund, whose sensual kisses and heated stares distract her down to her bones.
Keira has a choice: trust Edmund's notorious mischief-making or put her faith in Queen Victoria to make the right decision, but if Keira makes the wrong choice, the future of Great Britain will be changed forever.

BOOK TRAILER For Book 1, Victorian Scoundrel:

Keira stepped forward and stood next to Edmund. With a gentle touch, she placed her hand on Edmund's elbow. Pride swelled through him. He wasn't quite sure what to do next, but he needed to put Jonas on notice concerning Keira.

Jonas nodded, acknowledging Keira. A new respect grew in his eyes and Edmund scowled. No way in Hell would he allow Jonas near his woman.

"You are a rogue, Mr. Byron," said Keira.

He chuckled. "Be thankful I'm not a scoundrel like Mr. Windsor. Now, I suggest you and the Windsors leave this room."

"Not until you tell me why." Keira's voice was firm.

"Why, what?"

"Why my father? This time? Why wind?"

Jonas cocked his head to the side and an amused little grin crossed his face. Edmund

wanted to smack that expression clean into next week. Instead, he gritted his teeth.

"It was His Royal Highness who piqued my curiosity when he asked me for my help with

the time traveling machine."

Snippet Sunday: 2.99 paranormal romance: Sunrise Over Brasov #wewriwa #snippetsunday

Welcome to February! Have a great Valentines Day!

Hi all, I'm participating in the Weekend Warriors Snippet Sunday. This month, I'll be taking snippets from my winter romance, Sunrise Over Brasov. You can find the Weekend Warriors Snippet Sunday list at:

About this snippet:    Michael tries to stir Rosa' memories.

Michael -- yes, that was his name -- Michael broke the kiss and gasped for breath. Rosa wanted to smack him for taking without asking, but he continued to hold her wrists.
"Now will you get dressed?" he asked.
He let one of her hands go and reached into his belt at his waist. Her hand came up and
she slapped him. Michael stumbled back. Scowling, he hesitated, assessing her with a hard, steely gaze.
"Damn you -- you've had enough anise. You don't need any more."

Rosa Getzi lives a life of intrigue at Poiana Brasov with Clement, a werewolf, and Cassandra, the witch. Her past doesn't matter to her – until she discovers what it holds.
Prince Michael Sigmaringen joins his sister-in-law, Caroline, and the vampire prince, Darius, in a daring rescue, igniting Rosa's desire to find her family. However, all is not as it appears. Rickard, Rosa's friend, escapes with her. Clement will go to any lengths to get Rosa and Rickard back.
At Darius' fortress, Michael soon discovers Rickard is a new breed of werewolf – one who can control the change, and Clement hopes to exploit Rickard's abilities.
Michael's courage, strengths, and convictions will be tested like never before. Can Michael and Rosa find true happiness and the rid the lupine haunting of the Sigmaringens once and for all?

2.99 steampunk romance: Victorian Scoundrel #kindledeal

Winner: BRONZE 2012 Reader's Favorite Contest, Romance: History

2011 Hope Chest Reviews Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy Romance Series

BLURBIt's 2011 and compressed natural gas has taken over from the coal producing steam machines of the Victorian Age. Alice Windsor, Princess of York, follows her mischief-making cousin, Edmund of Wales, back to 1851 where Prince Albert is hosting Britain's Great Exhibition.
Alice soon finds herself over her head in trouble. Edmund is determined to help Prince Albert build a dirigible and the prime minister appears intent in preventing her from stopping Edmund. Alice knows it's too early for the massive flying machine to take to the air. Complicating matters is the passionate Grayson Kentfield, Earl of Swinton. Alice can't stop her pulse from pounding when she's near him.
Can Alice give her heart to a man from the past while working to stop Edmund from changing history?

A look of befuddlement crossed Alice's face. "Prime Minister?"

Grayson's companion, Sir John Russell, crossed his arms. He was just as tall as Grayson with salt and pepper hair around the temples and weary brown eyes, made so by the exertion of day-to-day politics.

"Yes, I'm the prime minister and this is Earl Swinton. Why are you here at the palace?"

Alice paused, pursing her lips, and tried to quickly think of an explanation. Then her eyes lit up. "I'm here to see Prince Albert."

Sir John raised an eyebrow. "Really? What business do you have with him?"

"I'm here to discuss an exhibit for the Great Exhibition he's planning."

"Um, no doubt it's a fashion exhibit," said Sir John.

Alice beamed from ear to ear. "Why, yes, it is."

From the playful look in Alice's eyes, Grayson couldn't help but wonder if Alice was serious about her reply.

"Well, I will help you. Swinton, take this young lady to one of the reception rooms while I meet with the prince's secretary."

"Of course, Sir John," said Grayson. He turned his full attention onto Alice. "Come with me, Miss Windsor."

She flashed Grayson a devastating smile and fell in step next to him as they passed through the entrance. Curious. Her position implied equality. Proper etiquette would have her walk behind him. He said nothing, keenly aware of the warm sensation she caused fluttering in his veins.

REVIEWS: Reader's Favorites: 5 Stars, Molly E: She grips the reader instantly, and keeps them hooked until the last page... I highly recommend this with highest of 5 stars, and I can't wait until the second Windsor Diaries installment releases!

Pen & Muse Reviews: A wonderful historical, paranormal steampunk read this was. The author really had me hooked from the first chapter... I loved the humor in this read along with the historical facts.

"Stephanie Burkhart has done an excellent job of combing several genres to create a highly interesting, entertaining story that once you start to read you will not want the story to end." - 4 Stars, Anita, Kindle Book Review

Long & Short Reviews, 4 Books, Larkspur: It’s the perfect romance if you love the proper etiquette of the Victorian era mixed with the fantasy of time travel. This is the first in this new series and I’m excited to read the next episode."

Scorching Hot Reviews: 4 Stars:
Overall, a fun and breezy read that really doesn’t take itself seriously. With sweet and funny characters, the tale was enjoyable and engaging. A fantastic edition to the steam-punk genre....bring on book two :)

Hope Chest Reviews: 4.5 Stars:
Victorian Scoundrel was a nice easy read, but sometimes that's just what the doctor ordered. The pacing was pretty snappy with the plot moving right along, while the dialog was sharp and sometimes witty

Goddess Fish Book Blast: Meredith Schorr & A State of Jane

Meredith has 3 stories in one.  I'm featuring A State of Jane today.

Jane Frank is ready to fall in love. It’s been a year since her first and only relationship ended and far too long since the last time she was kissed. With the LSAT coming up, she needs to find a boyfriend (or husband) before acing law school and becoming a partner at her father’s firm. There’s just one problem: all the guys in New York City are flakes. Interested one day and gone the next, they seemingly drop off the face of the earth with no warning and no explanation.

In her misguided belief that life doesn’t really start until you get married and have kids, Jane jumps from one extreme to the next trying to force a happily ever after until she breaks. Will she ever find her path, and can she do it without alienating her friends and family and risking her career in the process?

 “How did you leave things?”

“He kissed me goodbye and put me in a cab.” I narrowed my eyes at her. “What’s with the interrogation, Lainie?”

Ignoring my question, she asked another one of her own. “What did he say?”

“I don’t know. It was kind of fuzzy. Too much wine. He had to get up early the next day.”

Lainie snorted. “What? To drive his sister to the airport or something?”

“His roommate actually. What’s so funny?”

Lainie stared at me. Waiting for an answer, I stared back. Finally, she said, “He really said he had to take his roommate to the airport?”

I nodded.

“And you believed him?”

“Yes. Why not? You think he was lying?” Please say no.

“I don’t know. What happened on your date?”

“What do you mean? We had dinner, drank some wine, smooched. Randall wanted me to go home with him but totally understood when I said I wanted to take things slow.”

Lainie pushed away her plate of sushi, reached across the table, and put her hand over mine. She shook her head. “Sweetie, I don’t think Randall will have the pleasure of seeing you in your sexy new underwear.”

I felt my muscles tighten and swallowed hard. “Why not?”

Looking at me in disbelief, Lainie raised her voice. “Girl, you’ve been blown off. Randall the Great is really Randall the Rat!” Lowering her voice, she said, “Don’t feel bad though. You didn’t do anything wrong aside from refusing to do him. I applaud you. He’s a slug.”

A born-and-bred New Yorker, Meredith Schorr discovered her passion for writing when she began to enjoy drafting work-related emails way more than she was probably supposed to. After trying her hand penning children’s stories and blogging her personal experiences, Meredith found her calling writing chick lit and humorous women’s fiction. She secures much inspiration from her day job as a hardworking trademark paralegal and her still-single (but looking) status. Meredith is a loyal New York Yankees fan, an avid runner, and an unashamed television addict. To learn more, visit her at
