Feast of Candles: 99 cent spicy romance: "This book turned out to be a sex story!"

Feast of Candles, my 99 cent spicy romance released in July 2012. Written for the 2011 Victory Tales Press Christmas anthology, it's about a lonely woman, Lily Marquand, who runs a winery. Lily's looking for Mr. Right, but Mr. Right is not in Sonoma, CA. Enter Drake deBrettville. He's sampled Lily's wine and wants to meet her. When he does, the sparks fly. Does Lily dare to let him into her lonely heart?

I enjoy writing all heat levels. I've written sweet, sensual, and spicy. And I usually don't get spicer than Feast of Candles. And I'm quick to tell readers my heat level so they're aware of what their getting.

One reader/Amazon Reviewer didn't pay attention: D. Pennington wrote: "It turned out to be just a sex story!! It was told in very explicet sex language, about every time they had sex,which wasvery often, almost the whole book. The review should be much more explicet, so one would kmow what they were getting. It was worse than the "True Stories" magazine of years ago!! I would not reccommend this book to anyone I know!!"

Lily was finding it harder to say goodbye at the door when they departed for the evening. He'd cracked her stone walls with his patient persistence and determined arrows and her heart had convinced her to extend her full trust to him, regardless of the risk.

"Marquand Manor," she said finally, lowering her voice.

He drew close, pressing the length of his body against hers. Her pulse quickened even as a sense of caution flooded through her. She opened her eyes and placed her hand over his, while placing her other hand over his chest to stop him from drawing closer.
Despite her attraction, she wasn't quite ready to allow a kiss.

He stared into her eyes, keeping his hand on her waist. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing." She hesitated. "Everything. You..." her voice trailed off.

Collecting her purse, she walked into the lobby as Drake descended the stairs. He presented her with a manila envelope.

"I'll look it over and give it to my lawyers to examine."

"When might you make a decision?"

"Give me a week."

He escorted her to her car and paused near the door. Lily unlocked it with her remote and leaned over, placing her purse along with the folder in the passenger seat. When she stood back up, Drake was directly in front of her. He cupped her cheek, his hand warm and encouraging. "When can I see you again?"

Her abdomen ached for more as waves of desire washed over her. Lily craved closer contact, but she tried to think rationally. "I'm, ah, not sure of my schedule."

"Tomorrow?"

"Yes – tomorrow. Come to the winery after it closes."

Her head spun in a vortex of excitement. This man knew how to kiss.
An owl hooted. Startled, Lily broke away from him, but kept her hands firmly on his chest. She searched out Drake's eyes for a hint at what he was feeling. There was no hiding his raw attraction.

"Don't go tonight," he whispered.
