Who doesn't enjoy a good cookout?
May is the perfect month for outdoor cooking – not too hot
or cool. Grilling is fun, gets you outdoors, and is typically healthier than
eating out. It's also a great way to spend quality time with friends and
family.
What I love about BBQ and grilling is the creativity it
affords from meats to veggies and even pitas. Don't forget to throw on spices,
sauces, and marinades or extra flavor.
Fresh fruit makes a great desert. Don't forget to bring salads, too.
Question for you:
What do you do special when you BBQ? Do you prefer gas
grilling or charcoal? What meats do you like to Q? Do you make the sauce or do
you recommend one? Do you BBQ veggies, too. Share your tips!
Easy Grill Chicken & Veggies
By: Steph
Use boneless chicken breasts and Kraft Italian salad
dressing marinade. Marinade at least 30 minutes. Use medium-low heat to grill up.
I use Zucchini, you can cut into slices or the long way.
(you can use any veggie really – onions, green/red/orange peppers) Drizzle with
olive oil. I like to use garlic salt w/parsley from Lowry's, or you could you
use your own brand of spices.
Spice up the veggies. Use med-low heat to grill them up.
I love grilling zucchini and summer squash, as well as cherry tomatoes and mushrooms. I usually use skewers and put chunks of stew meat on them with the same Italian dressing. :) Mostly, I just eat the veggies.
ReplyDeleteWe have a gas grill which is fine. I can use it all year long but I do miss the charcoal grills.
Mmm. Your first photo makes my mouth water, Steph. I love food cooked on the grill. I prefer charcoal cooked grilled food - seems to have more flavor - but I don't even know anyone with a charcoal grill anymore. Seems gas has made strong inroads due to the convenience of not having to wait for the coals to get "right." Now I want BBQ for dinner...
ReplyDeleteYummmmmmm. The pictures look delicious. I don't own a grill anymore since living in a condo but used to enjoy a charcoal grill and later a gas grill. My favorite BBQ is pulled pork and that is available to me in KY and FL just the way I like it.
ReplyDeleteLadies, thanks so much for stopping by. Melissa, I'm a little leary about grilling the veggies, but I'm learning a little olive oil and spices go along and I just figured out how to do zucchini well. LOL!! I use a mix of grill and charcoal - it all depends on the demands of the day as to which I use.
ReplyDeleteMaggie, hehe. I know it makes me water, too. What I like about charcoal is the ambience of waiting. You just hang out and talk. It brings peeps closer, I think.
Linda, I enjoy a good pulled pork, but I agree - it's hard to find a great place.
Smiles
