The Last 5 Books I Read

I know this is supposed to be "History" Saturday, but I'd thought I'd make it free day. hehe.

I just got a review back for "The Hungarian" from Coffee Time Romance and I thought a tidbit with you:
Danielle, Reviewer
3 CUPS

"Ms. Burkhart tells this tale in such a voice that we can practically feel the waves of emotions both characters are feeling coming off the pages."

Here's a link to the review: http://www.coffeetimeromance.com/BookReviews/thehungarianbystephanieburkhart.html

3 CUPS is "A Good Read" with Coffee Time and I'm thrilled to be reviewed by them.

I just checked Barnes & Noble and "The Hungarian" is the #1 Bestseller for Desert Breeze Books over there. 2nd time this week. hehe.

Here's the last 5 BOOKS I read:

5 - Prime Suspect by Melanie Atkins. This is a romantic suspense. Atkins writing is thrilling.

4 - Thin Ice by Liana Laverentz. This is a contemporary romance and centers around the sport of hockey. I enjoy hockey and I thought Laverentz did a great job bring the sport to life.

3 - Knight of Glory by Nicole Zoltack. This is a fantasy romance. I love Nicole's imagination. It really shines. I love the creativity in the story.

2 - No Other by Shawna Williams. This is an inspirational romance. It's very edgy for inspiratational, at least I thought so, and that's what really appealed to me as I was reading it.

3 - Outcasts by Gail Delaney. I am addicated to Beverly and Victor. I love this couple. Tortured and Romantic. Thumbs Up I am a fan of Delaneys Phoenix Rebellion series. This is a sci-fi speculative romance.

****

I just finished Gaining Ground by Delany, book 3 in the Phoenix Rebellion and I'll be tackling PI Barrington's Miraculous Deception next. After that, Protect the Heart by LK Hunsaker.

What I'm Reading Tuesday

Hi all, I thought I'd share with you what I was reading today. :)

I have to admit I really enjoyed Gail Delaney's "The Phoenix Rebellion, Book 1: Revolution," so much so I wanted to read Book 2, "Outcasts." It's a hard book to put down and I growl every time I have to.

In book 2, Outcasts, Victor is an Areth scientist who is in the Rebellion, having been taken there after the Rebellion broke into his NM compound. (Book 1) Victor was in a coma for several months and after emerging from the coma, he is presenting with two very distinct personalities. One he calls "a demon," the other is more sane and rational. He only finds peace, when Beverly, an empath, is near.

Obviously, the challenge is to figure out what's bothering Victor. It has Dr. Quinn and Dr. Montgomery stumped. I'm to the point where they have given him a neural "neutralizer" to help him suppress "the demon."

One of the features that I've enjoy is my text to speech on my Kindle. I've been listening to the book as I drive to work. I must admit it's a treat! I've always enjoyed a good audio book (however I'm very picky about my audio books) this one is a pleasure to listen to.

Outcasts is a sci-fi/speculative romance and there are my characters that the reader comes to care about. This book appears to focus on the story between Victor and Beverly.

I love the writing. It's easy to picture Delaney's futurtisic world and it moves at a good clip. I'm not done yet, but it is a pleasure to read.

Reading Tuesday - What I'm reading

Sadly, I can't read at the house unless I have the day off and the boys are in bed. That's rare. Usually this opportunity strikes on my days. That said, I have to read at work during down time. But that can be a challenge if a I have trainee. I love my trainees, but I need my "me" time and work, if you can believe it, is my "me" time.

That said, the heaves have aligned and I have had time to read lately. I just started J Morgan's "Were Love Blooms." He's got great voice, and "Were Love Blooms" is a paranormal romance about werewolves. I'm picky about my wolves now, but J has me hooked. It's a lighthearted, fun read and I'm curious just how Madison became a wolf.

My next book I'm reading is Gail Delaney's Outcasts. It's a sci-fi speculative futurisic tale and I'm hooked. It takes place in the future on Earth where humans and an alien race called the Aerth live in peaceful coexistance. Col Nick Tanner has just found out that his son is alive after being told he died in childbirth. Guess what - something is afoot. His wife was really Aerth and didn't die in childbirth. And he just found out. I've adored Sci-Fi all my life so this is a great read for me.

Also on the Kindle - Knight of Glory by Nicole Zoltack and One Snowny Knight a medival Scottish romance.

What? You're reading books on a KINDLE? Yep. And I have to admit I LOVE my Kindle. Really love it. I think I'm going to be picky about what books I get in print now and reserve that for the books I really adore.

What are you reading?

Tuesday Post - What I'm reading

Hi all - I'm very excited about Tami Dee and "Dawn of a Viking Sunrise."

I just finished Tami's "Under A Viking Moon" and it was a great story. I wanted to read the sequel and last night I had a chance to start. I went through 7 chapters like nothing. I couldn't put the Kindle down.

Dawn of a Viking Sunrise is about Rosie, Kat's best friend from book 1. Rosie (in 2009( has been hunting down the Viking time traveling pendants since Kat has been gone. She acquired the pendant Leif had, but is looking for Kat's. Enter Prof. Fisher - her evil history professor. He's got the other pendant and tries to steal the one Rosie has. Rosie and Prof fight and during the fight, they time travel back to Denmark and then Scotland.

During the first trip, Rosie briefly meets Davyn Noddersson, Leif's brother. In the second trip, she lands in Scotland only to meet Davyn again, but this time he is Laird McCarty. For Rosie it's a shock. The man she was dating in the future, was named McCarty. (he was a cop and he is dead now, shot while chasing a doped up teenager)

Davyn is the uber alpha male, but he's got his hands full with Rosie. He also has both pendants.

What happens next? I don't know, but the first chance I get, I'm picking up the Kindle!

Kudos to Tami for creating such fantastic characters.
