"Have dinner with me tonight."
It was bold, yes, but this might be his
only chance to get to know her.
She raised an eyebrow.
Perhaps that didn't
sound right. It sounded too demanding – something his father would say – and he
was not his father.
"I'm sorry, will you have dinner with
me tonight?" His voice was soft and gentle.
Sofia paused, "I'm quite tempted, but
what about your work?"

I always appreciate a self-aware man and at least he's trying! :)
ReplyDeleteIf he asks she should just go and let him worry about his work.
ReplyDeletegotta love bold requests :-)
ReplyDeleteI love that he thought to rephrase the question.
ReplyDeleteAnd, hey, he has to eat! Might as well have company for it.
I did like that he rephrased his request once he realized how it sounded. Interesting snippet!
ReplyDeleteWho could refuse a guy who made the effort to make his request more appealing? Surely she won't.
ReplyDeleteI like him already.
ReplyDeleteI love that he restated his request...I'm hoping she won't refuse : )
ReplyDeleteOf course she's tempted! And for a man who rephrases a question so it doesn't sound harsh? If she doesn't take him up on the offer, I will.
ReplyDeleteHaha! I like Karysa's comment. :-)
ReplyDeleteGood glimpse into his character. Nicely done. :-)
