Snippet Sunday: 99 cent summer romance: Arrow Through the Heart #snippetsunday

Hi all, I'm participating in the Weekend Warriors Snippet Sunday. This month, I'll be taking snippets from my sweet contemporary romance, Arrow Through The Heart. You can find the Weekend Warriors Snippet Sunday list at:

This snippet:      Ella finds her room trashed.

*****
"On the Fourth, would you like to spend the day with me?" he asked.

"I—" Ella placed her hand on the door and it swung open.

"Was your door latched?" Logan fisted his hands.

"I thought it was," her voice shook.

"Let me." The urge to protect her surged in him and he stepped in front of her, entering the room. The sheets on the bed were crumpled, bureau drawers were spread across the floor and her clothes were tossed about.

BLURB:
Summer vacation and the Fourth of July brings Ella to New Hampshire while participating in a tennis competition. Logan is an innkeeper's son who bumps into Ella and invites her for an ice cream. Attraction flares and they enjoy spending time together, but each has their own plans for their life. Then disaster strikes Ella. Can a summer attraction truly become a lasting relationship?

  1. You mentioned she's there for a tennis competition... so our list of suspect is pretty large, not just pretty criminals, but possible jealous challengers.

  2. I'm wondering if it was just a random robbery or if she has something that someone wants or if she's hiding something. So many possibilities!

  3. Uh oh, an ominous development. Glad she wasn't alone when she found that her room had been gone through! Excellent excerpt, tense....

  4. The scene's easy to visualize. Wonder who ransacked the room. The plot thickens. :-) Good 8.
