Snippet Sunday: 99 cent contemporary Easter romance: A Polish Heart #snippetsunday

Hi all, I'm participating in the Weekend Warriors Snippet Sunday. This month, I'll be taking snippets from my sweet contemporary romance, perfect for the Easter season, A Polish Heart. You can find the Weekend Warriors Snippet Sunday list at:

This snippet:      Darrin wants to spend more time with Sofia.

*****

Darrin turned his attention to Sofia, studying her thoughtfully. "What are you doing tomorrow?"

"Palm Sunday is this weekend and I'm going to help my mother prepare our Easter basket for the Easter meal."

"Easter basket?"

"Don't you make an Easter basket?"

"It's not a custom where I come from."

"We put our food and flowers in the basket and the priest blesses it on
Holy Saturday. Then we use the goods in the Easter basket to make our Easter meal."

This snippet has been modified to fit the 8 sentence limit.

"A Polish Heart" is a sweet contemporary romance.  Darrin Riverton, an architect from the United States is assigned to a challenging project which requires a trip to Poland. Sofia Buraczynski is assigned as his translator and his first sight of her heats his blood.

With Sofia as his guide, Darrin discovers Poland and many new things about himself, as well. When a chance is presented for him to remain in Poland, will he leave behind family and all that is familiar to follow his heart?

  1. Very timely little snippet! Enjoyed the peek at Sofia's culture...but I honestly can't buy that an American wouldn't have at least some awareness of Easter baskets. Of course his version wouldn't come close to the meaning of hers.

  3. Thanks for stopping by. Glad you enjoyed the snippet. Veronica, I didn't think of that. He probably does have a vague knowledge, but he didn't grow up with them.
