Snippet Sunday: 99 cent romance: A Polish Heart, contemporary romance, #snippetsunday

Hi all, I'm participating in the Weekend Warriors Snippet Sunday. This month, I'll be taking snippets from my sweet contemporary/inspirational Romance: A Polish Heart. You can find the Weekend Warriors Snippet Sunday list at:

This snippet:  Darrin has a proposal.

"Well, since I have your father's approval, I'd like to explore this between us." He waved a finger back and forth between them.
She arched an eyebrow, "This?"
"This chemistry, this spark between us."

Her expressive eyes narrowed in concern. "Darrin, you are leaving next Saturday, right before Easter. I think we should keep 'this' - she paused and used two fingers on each hand to make quotes when she said the word 'this' - on a friends - only basis."

"I've been giving that some thought."

A Polish Heart takes place leading up to Easter in Warsaw, Poland.  Can Sofia's faith give Darrin his heart back?

  2. I'm curious about Darrin's thoughts. What does he have in mind for "this?" Good excerpt.

  4. Good for her, putting the brakes on! (Sorry if this is a duplicate comment, Chrome wigged out on me for a minute.)

  6. This conversation is moving the story very well. Too bad that he's leaving. May I make one suggestion: when she makes quotation marks, perhaps it could be '"she made quotation marks with two fingers on each hand". Just a thought, but I'll leave it up to you. Great snippet!
