Hi all, I'm participating in the Weekend Warriors Snippet Sunday. This month, I'll be taking snippets from my 99 cent sweet/sensual paranormal romance, "Night of Magic."

Night of Magic
Paranormal Romance

BLURB:  Aithne has a vision.

Aithne stared into the mirror. She heard the heartbeat of the drums, the chants of the people, and then swallowed the potion from the cup in front of her.

Her heart accelerated. Smoke from the candle next to her grew wide, and images from her father's world appeared. This year's offering didn't excite her wait there was another man. He hadn't donned the mask yet, but he held it. His eyes were amber brown, true windows to his soul.

Sigh... isn't Jimmy Thomas gorgeous on the cover... melting...

Hi all, I'm participating in the Weekend Warriors Snippet Sunday. This month, I'll be taking snippets from my 99 cent sweet/sensual paranormal romance, "Night of Magic."

Night of Magic
Paranormal Romance

BLURB:  Finn has a vision.

Just as Finn blew out the candle, loud rhythmic drumming filled the air and the bright light of a high fire cascaded through the window. A shiver shot down Finn's spine, and an uneasy feeling twisted around his nerves. The smoke from the candle drifted past his nose. An odd, sweet scent overtook him and Finn swooned. Reaching out, he grabbed the table, securing his balance. The vision of a woman appeared before him sweet curves, long, luscious red-gold hair and moss green eyes. Around her neck was a Celtic cross on a gold chain. She peered at him intently, studying him, and then slowly, she smiled, revealing a small dimple in her cheek.

BLURB: Drake is going to take the biggest risk of his life all on a bottle of wine. Can he break the barriers around Lily's heart?

This snippet:

Drake dared a step forward and placed a hand on her elbow. "I don't want you to feel pressured to give me an answer right now."

"Good. I don't want to confuse business with pleasure." She turned to face him, her expression thoughtful, yet quiet.

He curved his fingers under her chin, tipped her face toward his, and kissed her.

Drake started the kiss slow, savoring the sweet/sour taste of her lips.

Giving Back to Oklahoma - Official Launch Date! Help the Oklahoma Tornando Victims

I've always been a firm believer in giving back to others and Oklahoma holds a special place in my heart as my publisher, 4RV is located in Edmond. I'm very grateful to Vivian Zabel at 4RV for publishing my stories.

My heart goes out to all the citizens of Oklahoma affected by the recent tornados so I've come up with a way to give back.

Starting 8 JUN and lasting through 22 JUN, if you buy a copy of one of my books, "The Giving Meadow," or "First Flag of New Hampshire," I'll be donating my royalties to the Salvation Army in support of the Oklahoma Tornado victims. Joining me is fellow 4RV author, Karen Cioffi, along with her book, "Walking Through Walls."  We recommend that you consider using the Publisher's Website to buy the books in support of the effort.

I have another favor to ask.  Help us share the message.  If you could use word of mouth or send out a Tweet, Facebook, Google +, Linked In, etc. that would be so helpful in getting the word out on this great opportunity to give to Oklahoma and America.

Our donations will be given to the Salvation Army in Oklahoma City to help with Tornado Relief. You can find their website at:

http://www.salvationarmyusa.org/tornado

This is for a good cause and it's something we all believe in.
Thank you so much
Steph, Karen, and Vivian.

Book Review Friday - You're Perfect...and Other Lies Parents Tell

Book Review for: You're Perfect (and other lies parents tell)
Written by: Loni Coombs
Bird St. Books
ISBN: 978-0-9854627-4-1
Avail: as an ebook and hardback
5 Stars

Coombs offers an enlightened and common sense perspective to modern day parenting with "You're Perfect…and Other Lies Parents Tell."

It isn't easy parenting children in this modern day Internet savvy world. As a former DA for LA City, Coombs saw many troubled teenagers cross her path in the justice system. After identifying parenting "types," and "pitfalls," Coombs offers common sense advice for modern day parenting.

A majority of today's parents are instilling a sense of entitlement along with a lack of empathy for others by making their children believe "it's all about them." This mentality will only cripple a child as they grow up. After identifying the problems, Coombs offers solutions. Her writing style is easy to read and understand. Her voice is honest and sincere, and it makes the book shine despite its controversial topic. It's not easy to hear we're not perfect, but it really is necessary for our children to understand so they grow into their potential as young adults.

Coombs message is relevant for today's modern audience. With her unique perspective, Coombs will challenge you as a parent to take a long, hard look at your style and she'll help you with good solid advice. A must read, especially if you have children who challenge you and your authority. I highly recommend this book.

I am a Tim Tebow Fan #tebow #nflfootball

And I want to see him play football. There I said it. And I feel good about it.

Disclaimer: The following is only a post from a humble football fan that expresses my heartfelt thoughts.

Yes, I'm a woman and I'm not a Tebow fan because he's good looking either – that has nothing to do with why I want to see him play football.

First and foremost I am a football fan. I'm a believer in the NFL. American football is fun to watch. (Sadly, I can't afford tickets to see the Chargers or 49'ers because they are too high price for a middle income family of four, so is Disneyland, but that's another post for another time)

Thank goodness for TV.  Oh, and I still can afford college games. You can find me in the USC stands.

Growing up in New England, I love the Patriots. Living in California, I'm a Chargers & 49'ers fan. When it comes to college, I follow USC.

Why am I Tebow fan? Because he's a class act.

#1 – He's dynamic. He made Denver football fun to watch. I was never much of a Broncos fan, but I tuned in to watch him. Watching Tebow is exciting. I also like to watch Michael Vick and RGIII. All 3 share a quality that make them interesting to watch and easy to cheer for. They're simply dynamic.

#2 – He's a great role model for my boys. My son's favorite football player is Donald Driver because he won a Superbowl ring with the Packers and the Mirror Ball trophy on DWTS. Donald Driver is a class act on the field and off - that's what he has in common with Tebow. He's a great role model for young boys who want to play football.

Is Tebow a bad quarterback with awful mechanics?

I've seen quarterbacks come and go. Ryan Leaf – remember him? The Bills haven't had a steady QB since Jim Kelly. Tebow can handle stress and pressure and he's proved that.  He's a Heisman Trophy winner and that says a lot.

Tebow comes with a dog and pony show that no team wants to deal with.

Really? So does Michael Vick but I see the Eagles willing to take it on. If I were a team like the Jags, the Browns, the Bills, the Dolphins, even the Raiders, I'd be taking a chance on Tebow. I'll tell you this – whatever team Tebow lands on I'm buying his jersey for my boys and tuning in to watch his games.

Tebow is religious. He "tebows.

As a football fan, "tebowing" does not bother me. I'm religious, too. A small religious gesture for thanks does not offend me.

I can sniff 2013-14 football in the air. It's not here yet, but I'm budgeting my $$ to see my Trojans play in the fall.  And I'm hoping Tebow finds a team before then. How about you?

BLURB: Drake is going to take the biggest risk of his life all on a bottle of wine. Can he break the barriers around Lily's heart?

This snippet:  Lily commits to her decision

*****

She let out a deep breath and her gaze rested on the calendar which was on her desk. This was the most reckless thing she'd ever done in her life. Christmas was ten days away. The season embodied hope, generosity, and giving, and yet her heart ached at the thought of losing Drake. She didn't want him to leave. God, this was one of the scariest decisions she'd ever made to let him into the most intimate, private place of her life.

"Are you sure?" he asked.

Her hazel eyes met his Nordic blue ones. "Yes."

His mouth curved with tenderness and he offered Lily his hand.
