It's still fun - even at 44. Trust me. hehe. Yes, I agree - white is hard and it works best on a gray or a beige coloring page, I think.

Smiles
StephStephanie Burkhart https://www.blogger.com/profile/16952130018587727063noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2634682259702186282.post-90038373650822162322013-05-12T05:04:00.600-07:002013-05-12T05:04:00.600-07:00Celia, that is the best time to buy crayons, too. ...Celia, that is the best time to buy crayons, too. You are so sweet to give them to the schools. I buy school supplies for my school as well.

I agree - there's something about a box of crayons (and maybe it is the smell!) that just makes the light shine in a child's eye.

That's it - you need some crayons in your house. Purples and yellows make me smile, and pinks make my toes curl with delight. I use a white crayon a lot at Easter, and I like to outline with black. Heck. I like 'em all.Maggie Toussainthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12011893139722870283noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2634682259702186282.post-77784524508308892522013-05-08T10:59:23.215-07:002013-05-08T10:59:23.215-07:00I have two small kids in school so we go through a...I have two small kids in school so we go through a lot of crayons. I always buy extra because it is nice to have them around the house for the kids to use. Plus even as an adult, I love to color. My favorite color would probly be red or pink. Lease favorites or white, because it is hard to see it when you use it to color.
Chrisbailshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12211119853890993337noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2634682259702186282.post-54222987968608419872013-05-08T09:39:37.879-07:002013-05-08T09:39:37.879-07:00I buy Crayons each year when school is beginning. ...I buy Crayons each year when school is beginning. I buy whatever the store has on sale--a 49 count box of Crayons--instead of $3.oo (guessing), 25 cents. If the limit is 6, I buy six. I do this at Wal-Mart, Target, our supermarket HEB, Walgreen's, and Office Depot, and I do it for about three weeks. These go in boxes at church to distribute to Mendez Elementary, the school with 85% Hispanics who are low-income, some illegals, many don't speak English....many are transient, and yes, some are even homeless.
Every child, no matter the circumstances, delights in a new box of Crayons. They clutch the box tightly, so they won't lose the box....and yes, they smell the crayons.
Don't you love that smell? I can smell it right now and there's not a Crayon in my house.
Favorites colors--the blues. Least favorites? Anything yellow or light green. Dark green was okay.
Thanks, Steph...such lovely memories. I think my favorite color was blue-green. I do remember maize and mulberry. I also have a bit of color history for you. Did you know that the color name "midnight blue" was made by Crayola?
